In 1995 the NSB did not just run trains, it had a bus fleet as well. I do not know the situation now. The last bus replacement service I used was a very full mini bus from Notodden to Skien. Just as we pulled away from the stand at Notodden somebody came into view waving at the driver. The bus stopped, they got on, the driver loaded their mountain bike by carrying it above his head along the rucksack impeded gangway until he found enough room. Do not try this at home.
